Meet James Cheatham
James Cheatham is the pastor at Grace Point Church. He was born and raised in the delta in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. James attended Mississippi College where he received his Bachelors of Social Work and met his wife, Alicia. James and Alicia have lived in Lake Jackson, Texas, Hickory Flat, MS, and West Palm Beach, FL, serving in the traditional church context and in church planting. They were excited when God called them and opened a door for them to return to the Mississippi delta along with their four children. While serving at FBC Greenwood, God gave the Cheatham family the opportunity to start a new church in Greenwood. Grace Point Church is the result of God’s providing and His people praying. Grace Point is a church that believes and teaches the Bible, lives for Jesus Christ and makes disciples of all people.
COME AS YOU ARE
We want you to know what to expect when you come to Grace Point Church.
PHYSICALLY
Our only dress code goal is modesty. Most people come dressed casually. James usually preaches in a t-shirt. You are welcome to come in the style of dress that best suits you.
SPIRITUALLY
Churches are made up of people saved by Jesus Christ. We welcome all Christians as well as any who are curious to learn more about the Bible and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
MENTALLY/EMOTIONALLY
You don’t need to have your “life together” to be a part of our community. We are all in progress and we desire to rejoice together and weep together as a family.
ETHNICALLY
Greenwood is a fairly diverse place for its population size. Grace Point is a place for all people, no matter your skin color and no matter your cultural background.
SOCIALLY
Whether you would describe yourself as rich, poor, or somewhere in between you are welcome at Grace Point. We don’t pass an offering plate, but if you desire to give, you can do that here on our website or in the tithe box during worship.
